Over the past couple of years, UKCDR has been convening a global taskforce on equitable partnerships that EDCTP has been participating in. One of the outputs from this taskforce is a Good Practice Document: Four Approaches to Supporting Equitable Research Partnerships (2022), developed in partnership with ESSENCE on Health Research. In one of nine case studies featured in the good practice document, the EDCTP-funded epidemic research preparedness consortia - ALERRT and PANDORA-ID-NET – are presented as examples of research consortia to build equitable decision-making. The document is shortly due to be launched at a virtual event hosted by UKCDR and ESSENCE, ‘The role of funders in enabling equitable research partnerships for development’ at the Science Summit at United Nations General Assembly 77 (UNGA77) on 26 September 2022, with the soft launch scheduled a few days in advance. More details on the event can be found here: https://sched.co/18kT5
Recognising the wide reach and influence of the EACCR Networks of Excellence, EACCR researchers and collaborators are encouraged to attend the session and help with disseminating the good practice document once available.
